Hi, I'm Ash

My fascination with photography began with one single image.

Displayed in my home is a framed photograph and if you have ever been a guest, you have likely asked me, “What is that?” My response, “What do you think it is?”, always intrigued by the guesses (which has never been accurately named by anyone). 

When I was in college, I took an Art class as an elective because let’s be honest, I was a tired student and thought it would be an easy A. I ended up enjoying it so much that I took three creative art classes (and yes, I did earn As!). It was in one of those classes that I was exposed to Photography. Specifically, a photograph by Edward Weston. 

The Pepper No. 30 is what is displayed in my home. It is a still life picture of nothing more than a bell pepper. However, the light and shadows captured plays with your interpretation. Years later, every time I look at the art on my wall, it speaks something different to me based on my feelings of the moment.

I am married to my wonderful husband, Nick that supports my dreams and is the Yin to my Yang. I am an IVF warrior that has three beautiful children: a teenager and two elementary children. Also, I am owned by two Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers that take up way too much space in my bed.

Life took me to the corporate world, then motherhood led me to stay home raising babies. After losing myself to parenting, my future endeavors became clear: I have always been chasing that perfect family photo or capturing the moment with my children on camera and editing for social media. An epiphany happened! I wanted to take my love of interesting photographs that tell a story and create my own art serving those around me.
